Ekimogun Association of Southern California is the foremost Nigerian social club in Southern California. We are proud to say we are the envy of others and a very good leader.
Our journey started in 1992 when few like minded people came together with a clear vision and plan to foster unity amongst the indigenes of Ondo, promote the welfare of Ondo by assisting the needy in any way possible, to develop new ideas and approaches that will keep our people relevant, strong and responsive to the future of our great Ondo Kingdom with a promise to pass on the torch from generation to generation, and ultimately be a model for other Nigeria clubs in Diaspora.
Ekimogun Association of Southern California is a social, non-profit, non-political organization which supports various causes with child education being our main focus.
No job they say is more important than educating our nations youth. The emotional, social and physical development of young children has a direct effect on their overall development and on the adult they will become. Imaging the picture in our landing page, those little children should be in school not on the street hawking their future away.
You are cordially welcome to our online home.
Who Are We
WHAT WE DO
As people of Ekimogun Association of Southern California, we reveal God’s love by assisting the needy and vulnerable through our compassionate support. We are a social, non-profit, non-political organization committed to providing for the communities we serve. We remain committed to our core values of respect; compassion, justice, excellence and stewardship. We keep up our goal as defined by our founding brothers and sisters with regards to our scholarship program which started back in 2006.
OUR GOALS
Eighty percent of our goals strive on the philosophies that result on high quality scholastic care for our students, however we diversify to a broad spectrum of outreach programs for example, supply of clothes and shoes, books for schools and public libraries, repair and rebuilding of classrooms, provision of makeshift tents for conducive learning and medical supplies such as first aid materials, syringe and needles to community hospitals.
WE GIVE
We carry out campaign for used books which are shipped in container load to designated locations and are distributed to intended schools and public libraries. We have been able to help increase students reading appetite by sending relevant books that stimulate their mind.
WE TRANSFORM
We collect used but good clothes and shoes for distribution to those who need them in the community as a whole, as there are hundreds of people who would most especially be grateful to have second hand clothes shipped to them.
We Need Your Support
It is proper to state that it is not the quality of teachers or their unwillingness to teach or the inability of the students to study and learn that is the cause of the poor development in education across Nigeria. It is undoubtedly, the unhealthy learning environments, which are necessitated by the many years of neglect.
Public schools in Nigeria are a collection of dilapidated buildings, many without classroom furniture, electricity, running water, toilets and other basic facilities. The schools are staffed with teachers who are seriously overworked and attended by poorly fed, disenchanted pupils.
The school building is pitiful and not conducive for learning. Students learn under tattered zinc ceilings thereby making the classrooms to be awfully hot during the dry season. Hot weather, as everybody knows is very uncomfortable and even worse during intellectual activities such as learning. Also, the raining season brings new challenges to the children, as they are exposed to cold and all forms of illnesses associated with it. The classrooms where these children are forced to learn are not conducive in all ramifications.
Many factors contribute to poor performance of student’s in schools. Among others are environmental, financial, emotional, and physiological factors. For instance, a student whose basic ‘physiological needs’ (food, water etc) are not satisfied may not perform well in school. In fact, many students in Nigeria mostly those from poor families go to school hungry and many classrooms are known to be crowded and chaotic. How could a hungry and thirsty student take lectures or study in classrooms that are as hot as a sweatshop?
In view of all these, we have elected to contribute our quota in the provision of the needed healthy environment for teaching and learning. We aim to raise funds for the development of public schools located within Ondo East and West Local Government and its environs.
We Ekimogun Association of Southern California has embarked on a massive school rehabilitation program aimed at restoring all dilapidated basic schools to promote effective teaching and learning in Ondo communities and its environs. It is the right of any child in Nigeria, whether poor or not, to be educated up to the senior secondary level.

It is a common belief in human development theory that human beings do not develop in a vacuum; and that the many dimensions of the principles of human development are essential for healthy learning and academic performance of students. It has also been noted that people naturally exist and grow better in a supportive environment. Sadly, the political leaders of Nigeria do not seem to take cognizance of these facts, as they find it difficult to provide the institutions with the healthy environment that constitutes the context, in which students live and learn. That is where we come in, and with you standing side by side with us the sky is the limit.
We intend to make additional effort to aid in the following areas:
a. Replacing or repairing leaking classroom roofs
b. Furnishing classrooms
c. Computer for student use
d. Donation of sporting equipment
e. Provision of books and stationery
f. Distribution of clothes and shoes
We intend to focus on providing financial assistance to the support and need of those individual who need help.
Having attained the fifth year of awarding scholarships as a non-profit organization, which we have been able to sustain out of our pocket up to date, we now realize that we do need to shift gear to the next level of intense purposes hence our approaching your good self/organization for support in order to expedite our well-intended programs.
We implore you to help us light up our candle of hope so we may place it on top of a mountain so it may shine beyond our immediate premise in Africa and points beyond.
We are happy to be part of the solution to the decimating educational efforts in Nigeria as children in many parts of the nation as a whole face incredible obstacle in getting sound education.
The schools built about fifty years ago are been neglected and dilapidated, some without doors and windows, insufficient desks, overcrowded classrooms and inadequate learning materials characterize the entire system.
It will be a great relief to parents and children if these problems are fixed to save them from eminent danger and allow them to study in a very conducive environment.
Many children will benefit from our effort, improving their literacy and education and adding value to their lives and that of their families giving them a brighter future.
So we are embarking on a massive school rehabilitation program aimed at restoring dilapidated schools to promote effective teaching and learning in Ondo.
Dilapidated school building

Part of our goal is to make sure our students not only have classes to study or books to read we also endeavor to make sure they have decent clothes on their backs.Help Create Hope For Tomorrow
